AC/DC's new Album 'Power Up' tops this week's United World Album Chart with equivalent sales of 348.000! ‘Power Up’ (PWRϟUP) is AC/DC's 17th studio album, and was released on November 13, 2020 via Columbia Records and Sony Music Australia. The album marks the return of vocalist Brian Johnson, drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams, who left AC/DC before, during, or after the supporting tour for their previous album 'Rock or Bust'. It's also the band's first album since the death of co-founder and rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young in 2017 and is a tribute to him. The critically acclaimed album debuted at #1 in 21 countries including Australia, with AC/DC becoming the first act to have a number one album in Australia in each of the five decades (1980s to 2020s)! The album registered 21,535 sales in its first week, outselling the rest of the top 15 combined! In the United States, 'Power Up' debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with 117,000 album-equivalent units, 111,000 of which were pure sales! Its the band's 3rd album to top the chart, following 'For Those About to Rock We Salute You' (1981) and 'Black Ice' (2008). The album's tracks accumulated a total 7.8 million on-demand streams in the week ending 28 November! The album also debuted at #1 on the UK Official Albums Chart with 62,000 chart sales, the biggest opening week of 2020 so far, and has already been certified Silver for 60.000 sales units! In Germany, the album debuted at No. 1, selling almost 160,000 copies, the biggest debut of the year! It is #1 for a 2nd week. The album has also debuted at #1 in Argentina, Austria, where it has already been certified Platinum for 15.000 units, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, where it has been certified Gold for 20.000 units, Sweden & Switzerland. It has also peaked at #2 in Denmark & the Netherlands, at #3 in the Czech Republic & Greece, at #11 in Japan and at #15 in Slovak.



Japanese utaite Group, Strawberry Prince, debuts at #2 with 'Sutopuri' and 1st week sales of 232.000, while Ariana Grande's 'Positions' holds at #3 for a 2nd week after debuting at #2 on the United World Chart, selling another 139.000 equivalent units and a total of 424,000 since its release.

 

Korean Boy band, Treasure, lands at #4 this week with their brand new album 'The First step: Chapter Three' which sold 121,000 equivalent units in its 1st week. 

 

New entry at #5 for Future & Lil Uzi Vert's 'Pluto x Baby Pluto' with first week sales of 115.000, while Chris Stapleton's brand new 'Starting Over' lands at #6 with sales of 113.000.

 

New entry for Korean Band SHINEE's Taemin at #7 with his brand new album 'Never Gonna dance Again: Act 2' and sales of 102.000, while the late Pop Smoke's former chart topping album 'Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon', dips 6-8 this week after selling another 92.000 units and 2.761.000 so far.

 

Former No. 1, Juice WRLD's 'Legends Never Die', rebounds 10-9 after selling another 61.000 units and 2.421.000 so far, while Harry Styles' former chart topping album, 'Fine LIne', holds at #10 after selling another 59.000 and a total of 3.638.000 so far!
