Adele remains atop the Global Album Chart for an 11th non consecutive week after selling another 234,000 copies! This week's 14% sales increase is also thanks to her performance on the Grammys. '25' has sold a total of 16,773,000 copies since its release on november 20, 2015. The album sold 124,800 units in the USA last week, 27,800 in United Kingdom, about 13,000 in Germany, 9,000 in France, nearly 10,000 in Canada, 5,500 in Australia and 2,200 units in Japan.
Close behind Adele, are two J-pop albums which debut at no.2 and no.3. Bump Of Chicken's ninth studio album 'Butterflies' debuts with 197,000 copies sold and E-Girls' first best-of compilation 'E.G.Smile' with 185,000 copies, according to Oricon. Another J-pop album, 'The World's On Fire' by Man With A Mission, rockets to no.5 with nearly 100,000 copies.
Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' Album is back into the top five, driven by a 9% sales boost to 103,000, after his performance on the Grammys.
The Grammy for 'Album Of The Year' went to Taylor Swift's '1989', which rises ten places this week to no.13 (up 66% to 48,000 sales) and Kendrick Lamar's 'To Pimp A Butterfly', which won Rap Album Of The Year, returns to no.21, up 209% to 34,000 sales.
'Revival' by Selena Gomez sold 19.000 copies last week and reaches a total of 620.000 so far; 'Get Weird' by Little Mix sold 12,000 units last week, 616,000 so far; 'Handwritten' by Shawn Mendes sold 18,000 units last week and has a total of 710,000 units so far; 'How Big How Blue How Beautiful' by Florence + The Machine sold 1,090,000 copies so far; 'If I Can Dream' by Elvis Presley & Royal Philharmonic Orchestra 1,288,000, and 'Blurryface' by twenty one pilots, 813,000.
