American singer, songwriter, actress and model Demetria Devonne 'Demi' Lovato is the clear winner on this week's Global Album Chart. Her fifth studio album 'Confident' rockets to the hot seat with 186,000 sales. The biggest part of it comes from the USA with 76,600 copies, but the set sold also extraordinarily in Latin America, especially Brazil and Mexico. Demi's former (self-titled) studio album landed at no.2 with 139,000 initial sales in the week 22, 2013 and moved around one million copies to date. On this week's vice-position bows the self-titled album by the American a cappella group Pentatonix with 118,000 units, most of it in the USA with 87,700. The band's latest album is their first full-length non-covers set (minus one reworking of Shai’s “If Ever I Fall In Love,” featuring Jason Derulo). Nearly one year ago Pentatonix' X-mas album started at no.21 with 33,000 sales in the week 46, 2014 and peaked at no.3 four weeks later with massive 235,000 sales. Third highest debut comes from American rapper Machine Gun Kelly, his second album 'General Admission' arrives at no.3 globally with 60,000 sales (49,400 in the USA and 5,700 in Canada). The rapper's first effort 'Lace Up' reached no.12 in the week 43, 2012 with 53,000 sales. Another American rapper, The Game, catapulted at no.2 last week with 'The Documentary 2' and 114,000 sales, the installment 'The Documentary 2.5' lands at no.4 this week and found only about half as many buyers as before (56,000). Rounds out the top five is last week's chart-leader, Selena Gomez' 'Revival'. It moved another 51,000 copies, a 64% sales decline compared to the previous week. Some additional sales stats: 'Rebel Heart' by Madonna sold 5,000 copies last week and reaches a total of 825,000 so far, 'My Everything' by Ariana Grande sold 4,000 units last week, 1,674,000 so far, '21' by Adele sold 8,000 units last week and has a total of 26,937,000 copies so far, '1000 Forms Of Fear' by Sia sold 1,373,000 copies so far, 'Compton' by Dr.Dre 850,000 and 'Repentless' by Slayer 246,000.
