Black Panther: The Album Soundtrack is the best-selling Album in the World for a 2nd week!

'Black Panther: The Album' is the soundtrack album for the Marvel Studios film Black Panther and was released on February 9 by Interscope Records. The Album debuted at #1 last week on the Billboard 200 chart with 154,000 equivalent album units, 52,000 of which were pure album sales. The album holds at #1 in its second week, after selling another 131,000 equivalent album units of which 40,000 were pure sales. The Album has also reached #1 in Canada, Denmark and Norway, #2 in Australia, Finland, New Zealand and the Netherlands, #4 in Italy, #7 in Switzerland, #9 in the UK , #12 in Germany, #13 in Austria and #18 in France. 

 

The Album was totally curated by Kendrick Lamar, and also features The WeekndFutureSZA and many of Lamar’s fellow artists signed to Top Dawg Entertainment. Lamar was initially only supposed to work on a few songs but after watching the film, he decided to create the whole album. Many of his ideas for the album came to him in August 2017 during The Damn Tour. 

 

The Album's first single "All the Stars" ft SZA was released in January. The Single has reached #7 this week on the US Hot 100. Worldwide, the song has peaked at #1 in Malaysia, #2 in Australia, New Zealand and the UK and Top Ten in Canada, Hungary, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia and Sweden.

 

His collaboration with The Weeknd, "Pray for Me", was released by Top Dawg Entertainment, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records on February 2, 2018 as the album's third single and has peaked at #7 on the US Hot 100, at #4 in Sweden, #6 in Canada, Denmark, and Norway, #9 in Australia and Finland, #10 in Hungary, #11 in the UK and #12 in Ireland and Portugal.
