It was a tight race, until the last minute it wasn't clear who win, but now we have the result: 'Yes!', the fifth studio album of the American singer / songwriter Jason Mraz bows atop the Global Album Chart with 118.000 initial sales, the lion's share of it in the USA with 81.000. 'Yes!' overtakes Ed Sheeran's 'X', which was no.1 the last two weeks and follows now close behind at no.2 with 116.000 sales. 'Mandatory Fun', the new no.1 of the Billboard Album Chart opens at no.3 globally with 110.000 sales. It's the 14th album release by Comedian singer Weird Al Yankovic and the first comedy album at no.1 in the USA since 1963. The unstoppable soundtrack to Disney's blockbuster 'Frozen' ranks at no.4 this week with another 102.000 sales, a total of 5,54 million so far. Rounds out the top five is the third highest debut on the current tally: 'The Black Market' by the Chicago based punk-rock band Rise Against. It arrives with 99.000 global sales. Imagine Dragons' 'Night Vision' is the big dinosaur on the tally. The effort ranks since 83 weeks on the Top 40, one year and seven months, currently at no.27 with 25.000 sales, a total of 3,86 million so far. Since the start of the Media Traffic album chart in 2004, it's the 11th biggest longtime-seller. Adele's '19' was 85 weeks on the hitlist, the follow-up '21' even 129 weeks. Justin Bieber's 'My World' had a total of 86 weeks, Rihanna's 'Good Girl Gone Bad' with 91 weeks, Kelly Clarkson's 'Breakaway' with 92 weeks, Mumford & Sons' 'Sigh No More' with 93 weeks, Nickelback's 'All The Right Reasons' with 95 weeks, Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black' with 113 weeks, Norah Jones' 'Come Away With Me' with 114 weeks and finally Lady GaGa's 'The Fame (Monster)' with massive 137 weeks. Some additional sales stats: 'A.K.A.' by Jennifer Lopez sold 11.000 copies last week and reaches a total of 117.000 so far, 'Caustic Love' by Pablo Nutini sold 17.000 units last week, 533.000 so far, 'Born To Die' by Lana Del Rey sold also 17.000 units last week and has a total of 4,79 million units so far, 'Back To Bedlam' by James Blunt sold around 12,5 million copies so far, 'Back To Black' by Amy Winehouse nearly 14 million and 'Born This Way' by Lady GaGa 6,3 million.
