Japan's SMAP tops the Global Album chart with their latest compilation
'SMAP 25 Years' and sales of 668,000 copies in its first week, according
to Oricon. The 2nd big new-entry is the Korean boy group Exo who debut
at No. 2 with their new album 'For Life: Winter Special Album 2016'
after selling 333,000 copies. 316,000 of it in their native country
alone, according to Hanteo!

After 12 weeks, Bruno Mars finally makes it to No. 1 on the Global Track
chart! 24k Magic' overtakes 'Starboy' by the Weeknd feat. Daft Punk. The
tune held the top position for 4 weeks and is now at no.2.
The highest debut of the week is the rap track 'Bad And Boujee' by Migos
feat. Lil Uzi Vert at no.15. Similar to 'Black Beatles' by Rae Sremmurd
feat. Gucci Mane, it went viral overnight. 'Bad And Boujee' has inspired
numerous memes and tweets playing off the song's 'raindrop, drop top'
lyrics.
George Michael's christmas classic 'Last Christmas' rises to no.19, the
highest position since its first release in 1984, when it went to no.2
on the global track chart.
"Can't Stop the Feeling!" was recorded by American singer and songwriter
Justin Timberlake for the soundtrack to the film Trolls, for which he
serves as the executive music producer. It was written and produced by
Timberlake, Max Martin and Shellback. The song was released on May 6,
2016 with Timberlake giving his first televised performance of it at the
Eurovision Song Contest grand final.
The single debuted atop the US Billboard Hot 100, opening with 379,000
downloads in its first week, marking Timberlake's fifth No. 1 single in
the country. It was the 2nd song to spend its first 10 weeks atop the
Digital Songs chart, joining The Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow"
(2009).
Internationally, it topped the charts in Argentina, Brazil, Belgium,
Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Mexico, Russia,
Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden and Switzerland, and
went top-five in most countries in Europe.
"Can't Stop the Feeling!" was the best-selling song of 2016 in the US
with 2.4 million copies sold. For Apple Music it was the second most
streamed and downloaded song of the year after Drake's "One Dance"
featuring Wizkid & Kyla.
The Official Charts Company from the UK named it Timberlake's biggest
song in the country, for over 1 million units sold.
Drake's 'One Dance' is close behind at No. 2 and Sia's 'Cheap Trick' is
the 3rd best-selling Song of 2016!
It's not a surprise, that Adele's '25' album leads the Annual
best-selling Albums chart for a second consecutive year. The Album was
released on November 20, 2015 and sold an incredible 14,970,000 copies
in the last six weeks of 2015! '25' shifted another 4,586,000 units in
2016 and is the only album with more than 3 million sales!
The second best-selling Album of 2016 is Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' which sold
2,653,000 units and was also the best-selling Album of those released in
2016!
Drake's 'Views' is the World's 3rd best-selling Album with sales of
2,615,000 followed by Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' at 2,303,000 units and
Coldplay's 'A Head Of Full Dreams' which sold 2,104,000 copies!
