MTV says Miley Cyrus is the best artist of the year. They announced yesterday, that her VMA duet "We Can't Stop" and "Blurred Lines" was the year's most watched video on MTV websites. The MTV artist site devoted to Miley has had more visits than any other artist's.

"We Can't Stop," "Wrecking Ball" and "Bangerz" are all huge hits.

One Direction was MTV's Artist last year, and Katy Perry won the year before.

This year, Cyrus was an easy choice, said Amy Doyle, head of MTV's music and talent programming strategy. "She dominated the music charts and critics' best-of lists while creating some of the year's most memorable moments."

Beyoncé's last solo album, '4', was released in 2011. Pharrell Williams recently said that he's working on Beyoncé's new album and that it is almost finished and is "crazy".

Beyoncé has unveiled a handful of new songs in 2013, including the track 'Grown Woman', which was premiered via a Pepsi advert show during the half-time show of this year's Super Bowl, and 'Standing On The Sun', which she played in full for the first time at a gig in Belgium.

Last month (November 23), 'God Made You Beautiful' appeared online after being given away as an exclusive track to fans pre-ordering her 'Life is But a Dream' documentary.
