'Humanz', the 5th studio album by the British virtual band Gorillaz,
debuts atop the Global Album Chart this week with 260,000 equivalent
sales. 140,000 of its sales were in the US alone, and another 44,500 in
the UK.
Kendrick Lamar​'s 'Damn', the no.1 Album of the past two weeks, slips to
no. 2 after shifting another 236,000 units. Ed Sheeran's 'Divide' slides
to no.3 in its 9th week on the chart with 197,000 sales, and a total of
4,91 million so far.
The 2nd highest debut of the week is the best-of compilation 'Yuzu Ihora
1997-2017' by the Japanese folk-rock duo Yuzu. It soars to no.4 after
selling 181,000 units, according to Oricon. Drake's 'More Life' closes
the Top 5 with sales of 99,000. It's the 2nd most successful album of
the year so far with a total of 1,733,000 consumption units, between Ed
Sheeran's 'Dvide' and The Weeknd's 'Starboy' with 1,465,000.

Ed Sheeran's smash hit "Shape Of You' tops the global track chart for a 16th incredible week, the longest run since Mark Ronsons "Uptown Funk" featuring Bruno Mars which was also No.1 for 16 weeks and 12 consecutive weeks. 'Shape Of You' has the longest consecutive run since Pharrell Williams's "Happy" which remained atop the global track chart for 17 straight weeks and 19 non consecutive weeks in 2014!

Close behind "Shape Of You" is "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi& Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber which soars from no.5 to no.2 and is probably going to be the new No. 1 next week! It would be the first Spanish-speaking song atop the Global Chart since 'Asereje (The Ketchup Song)' by Las Ketchup in the year 2002.

The Chainsmokers "Something Just Like This" with Coldplay slips from 2 to 3.

Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like" slips from 3 to 4 and Kendrick Lamar's "Humble" closes the Top 5.

'I'll Be There' by the legendary Japanese idol group Arashi is the 29th Global Top 10 smash for that band, debuting at No. 8.

Second and final new-entry in the top 10 is "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back", an additional track for Shawn Mendes album 'Illuminate'.

The fourth studio album by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, 'Damn.' remains for a second week at the summit of the Global Album Chart after shifting 311,000 equivalent sales, a total of 1,042,000 units after two weeks.!!

Ed Sheeran's 'Divide' holds tight at No. 2 for a 4th consecutive after selling another 215,000 units for a total of 4,713,000 so far, the best-selling Album of 2017 by far!

Drake's 'More Life' climbs back to no.3 with 113,000 sales, and a grand total of 1,634,000 after six weeks on the tally!

There are two new-entries inside the Global Top 10 this week. Highest is the soundtrack sequel to the Japanese musical series 'Endless Shock' by Kinki Kids member Koichi Domoto. It's the new number one on the Oricon chart, the official album chart in Japan and no.5 globally with sales of 76,000, according to Oricon.

'DAMN.', the 4th studio album by American Rap Superstar Kendrick Lamar,
debuts atop the Global Album Chart after selling 731,000 consumption
units! The bulk of sales is from the US (603,000), followed by Canada
(35,000) and the UK (31,500). 438,000 of the 731,000 consumption units
are pure sales, more than Kendrick's former studio album, 'To Pimp A
Butterfly' which debuted at #1 in 2015 with sales of 415,000.


At No.2 for a 3rd consecutive week is Ed Sheeran's 'Divide', after
selling another 248,000 equivalent sales, and a total of 4,5 million
after only 7 weeks on the hitlist.


The 2nd highest debut of the week is John Mayer's 'The Search For
Everything', his 7th studio album which is at no.3 with sales of
188,000, most of which is from the US (132,000) and Canada (30,000). The
3rd new entry this week is the 8th sequel of the blockbuster 'Fast & The
Furious' titled as 'Fate Of The Furious'. The soundtrack bows at no.8
with 68,000 equivalent sales.
