Drake's new Album exploded atop the Global Album Chart selling 1,1 million copies! These are the highest weekly sales by an album since Adele's '25' a half year ago.'Views' found 851,700 buyers in the USA alone, another 92,300 in Drake's native country Canada, 66,200 in United Kingdom, and 16,500 in Australia. It's Drake's biggest success so far, driven by his two mega singles 'Hotline Bling' (no.2 in October last year) and this week's brandnew global no.1 'One Dance'. Drake's former studio LA, 'Nothing Was The Same', also reached the hot spot of the Global Chart with 794,000 sales in the week 41, 2013.
'Views' lands right off at No.5 on the year-to-date list, behind Coldplay's 'A Head Full Of Dreams' with 1,11 million copies, Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' with 1,55 million, David Bowie's 'Blackstar' with 1,76 million and Adele's '25' with 3,01 million.
Last week's big debut, Beyoncé's 'Lemonade', slips to No.2, and climbs to No.6 on the year-to-date list. It sold another 324,000 copies last week, for total of 1,03 million so far.
German rock legend Udo Lindenberg will be 70 years old next week. Parallel to his birthday, the 36th studio album 'Stärker Als Die Zeit' was released and sold a massive 134,000 sales this first week in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Prince's 'The Very Best Of' compilation is at no.4 after selling 121,000 copies, with sales of 570,000 since his death.
South Korean idol group 2PM with their fifth Japanese studio album 'Galaxy Of 2PM' sold 96,000 copies this week, according to Oricon.
Some additional sales stats: 'Blackstar' by David Bowie sold 16.000 copies last week and reaches a total of 1,757,000 so far. 'Nine Track Mind' by Charlie Puth sold 15,000 units last week, and 433,000 so far, 'Get Weird' by Little Mix sold 9,000 units last week and 719,000 units so far. 'Purpose' by Justin Bieber sold 4,514,000 copies so far. 'In The Lonely Hour' by Sam Smith has sold 6,525,000 so far, and'25' by Adele 17,983,000.
Drake tops the Global Track Chart for a 5th week with 'One Dance' ft Wizkid and Kyla. The song is the bestseller of the week. It's Drake's first No. 1 on the global chart as a major artist.
This week's highest debut is Calvin Harris and Barbadian superstar Rihanna's hit song 'This Is What You Came For' which rockets to no.2. The first collaboration of both artists since the super-smash 'We Found Love'. The tune held the top position of the Global Chart for 14 weeks November - February 2012.

Prince's signature song 'Purple Rain' rises from #20 to #1 this week on the Global track chart, replacing Lukas Graham's '7 Years' which reigned atop for 5 straight weeks. Originally released in November 1984, 'Purple Rain' peaked at #3 globally. Now it is the fifth #1 hit for the legendary R&B superstar, after 'When Doves Cry' (1984), 'Kiss' (1986), 'Batdance' (1989), and 'The Most Beautiful Girl In The World' (1994). Two of the Hit Singles are also back in the Top 10 of the global hitlist. 'When Doves Cry' soars from #31 to #6, and 'Kiss' rises from #38 to #9.
The highest debut of the week is Beyoncé's 'Formation', a tune from her new album 'Lemonade'. The song debuts at #8 globally. Another four songs from that album follow at #21 is 'Hold Up', at #23 is 'Sorry', at #27 is '6 Inch' and at #40 is 'Don't Hurry Yourself'.
At #2 for a second week is Drake's 'One Dance' ft. Wizkid & Kyla. The song will most probably be the new #1on next week's chart... and it's quite certainly that Drake will be also the new #1 on next week's Global Album Chart. Drake's new Album 'Views' will sell over a million copies in its first week!
Lukas Graham's '7 Years' slips from #1 to #3.
Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' soared this week to no.1 globally, with massive sales of 703,000 copies. 485,100 copies were sold in the United States alone, with another 63,400 in United Kingdom, 33,000 in Canada, and 20,500 in Australia. 'Lemonade' is Beyoncé's sixth studio album. Beyonce's former and self titled LP, also debuted on the hot spot with sales of 746,000 sales in the week 52, 2013.
Prince has eight of his albums in this week's Global Album Chart. The compilation 'Very Best Of' from 2001, which was #1 last week, is at #2 this week after shifting another 334,000 copies, totalling around 4 million since its original release. Prince's most successful album, 'Purple Rain', is #3 this week with sales of 173,000, and a total of 21 million since its release in 1984. Another two of his compilations, 'Ultimate' from 2006 and 'The Hits/The B-Sides' from 1993 follow at no.5 and no.6 with sales of 94,000 and 77,000 respectively.
Some additional sales stats: '1989' by Taylor Swift sold 15.000 copies last week, reaching a total of 9,452,000 so far. 'Beauty Behind The Madness' by The Weeknd sold also 15,000 units last week, totalling 2,061,000 so far, 'Chaos And The Calm' by James Bay sold 13,000 units last week and has sold a total of 1,367,000 units so far. 'Metal Resistance' by Babymetal sold 226,000 copies so far. 'Confident' by Demi Lovato sold 505,000 copies so far, and the self-titled Beyoncé album has sold 3,900,000 so far.
No one seems to be able to replace this Danish Phenomenal Band who has conquered the World Chart and remained atop for five straight weeks.
Drake's 'One Dance' makes another big jump from no.5 to no.2 and Mike Posner's 'I Took A Pill In Ibiza' closes the top three.
