UPDATED ON SEPT 10, 2016

Adele's '25' is the best Selling Album of 2016 from January 1st to August 31st 2016.

Even though Adele's third studio Album, '25', came out on November 20, 2015, it is still the World's best-selling Album of 2016 having sold another 3.971.000 copies since the beginning of the year!

'25' debuted at No.1 in over 25 markets, breaking first-week sales records in multiple countries, including the United Kingdom and United States; in the US, the album sold 3.38 million copies in its first week of release, marking the largest single-week sales for an album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking point-of-sale music purchases in 1991. '25' eventually became the world's best-selling album of 2015 after selling 14,970,000 copies globally and has sold a total of 18,941,000 million copies as of September 2016. Many journalists felt that the album impacted the music industry by encouraging the public to return to buying physical albums, instead of downloading or streaming.

Beyonce's 'Lemonade' is the 2nd best-selling Album of 2016 shifting 2,377,000 copies globally since its release on April 23, 2016. Drake's 'Views' is the 3rd best-selling Album of 2016 with sales of 2,306,000 as of August 31st.
