Madonna's 'Rebel Heart' is the World's top selling Album of the week. The LP sold a total of 315,000 units globally, with its biggest sales in the USA (116.100). It debuted at number two in the US on the Billboard 200 chart this week, behind the soundtrack of the TV series 'Empire'. Although 'Rebel Heart' was the best-selling album of the week in America with sales of 116,000, it fell behind the soundtrack when it came to streaming and track equivalent album units. The Album debuted at no.2 in the United Kingdom last week selling another 36.800 units this week. It is currently number one in various countries across the world, including major music markets such as Germany, Italy, Austria, Belgium and Switzerland. It debuted at no.1 in Canada, Australia, Belgium (Flanders), Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, as well as the top ten in the rest of European countries. The Album also entered the Japanese Oricon International Albums Chart at number one.
'Rebel Heart' is Madonna's thirteenth Studio Album. It was released on March 6, 2015 by Interscope Records. After a flurry of unexpected album content leaks, the singer put the album's pre-order out on I tunes on December 20, 2014, with six songs being available for download. Madonna co-wrote and co-produced the album in partnership with various musicians, including Diplo, Avicii and Kanye West. Musically, 'Rebel Heart' is a pop Album which merges an array of musical genres such as 1990s such as house, Trap and Reggae, as well as the usage of acoustic guitars and gospel choir.
Madonna made several television performances to including the 57th Annual Grammy Awards and the Brit Awards. The album's supporting tour, the Rebel Heart Tour, is set to kick off on August 29, 2015. "Living For Love" and "Ghosttown" were released as singles from the album. Rebel Heart has received predominantly positive reviews from music critics, who called it her best effort in a decade.
'Rebel Heart' leads eight debuts on this week's Top 20 best-selling Albums chart. The Second highest new entry is the soundtrack to the Fox TV smash musical drama series 'Empire', presently no.1 in America and no.4 globally with sales of 109.600 in the US. The soundtrack, 'Fifty Shades Of Grey', remains at no.2 after another 126.000 copies sold this week with a total of 1.012.000 so far after five weeks on the chart.
The Japanese pop phenomenon AKB 48 lands the 19th no.1 on the Global Track Chart, 'Green Flash' bows there with 480.000 points and ends (or interrupts?) the 12 week reign of 'Uptown Funk!' by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars. In the 60 year history of the Global Chart only three acts had more no.1 smashes: Madonna and Elvis Presley, each with 22 number one hits and the Beatles with 21. 'Uptown Funk!' slides down at no.2 and gets 462.000 points, an 8% decline compared to the previous week and now with a total 7.835.000 points. Rounds out the top three is Ellie Goulding's 'Love Me Like You Do', which becomes another 411.000 points (down 5%), a total of 2.259.000 points after seven weeks on the tally. Despite it fall at no.3, there's still a little chance that 'Love Me Like You Do' will be no.1 in the next time. Most recent example for the excellent British pop music is 'King' by the Electronica trio Years & Years, the band with the 24 year-old, charismatic actor and singer Olly Alexander. 'King' is the brandnew no.1 in United Kingdom with 92.000 download sales. Globally it arrives at no.24 with 100.000 points. There are two new songs on our ALL TIME CHART, because both broke through the 6 million border. 'Take Me Church' by Hozier bows at no.365 with a total of 6.041.000 points and 'Thinking Out Loud' by Ed Sheeran opens at no.340 with 6.222.000 points. Outside our weekly Top 40 waiting among other Nick Jonas' 'Chains' at no.49, Sam Smith & John Legend's 'Lay Me Down' at no.55, Empire Cast feat. Jussie Smollett & Yazz' 'You're So Beautiful' at no.56, and Sam Hunt's 'Take Your Time' at no.59 for their first appearance on the big list.
It's another big week for J-pop music, AKB 48's new single catapults atop the chart with stellar sales north of one million and rock-duo B'z catapults easily to the summit of the current Global Album Chart with their 19th studio recording 'Epic Day'. According to Oricon the set found 210.000 buyers in its initial week. B'z is Japan's most successful music act with more than 80 million albums and singles sold. The band's former studio album was released nearly four years ago and went also at no.1 globally with start sales of 272.000 copies in the week 32, 2011. Last week's chart-leader, the soundtrack to 'Fifty Shades Of Grey', slides one slot at no.2 and sold 150.000 copies, a 14% loss compared to the previous week. Noel Gallagher, lead guitarist and vocalist of the legendary British rock band Oasis, flies high with his side project High Flying Birds. 'Chasing Yesterday', the second album of that act, rockets to no.3 with 143.000 copies sold globally, the lion's share of it comes from United Kingdom with 87.400 units, following by the USA with 13.900 sales and Germany with estimated 10.000 sales. Ex 'American Idol' winner Kelly Clarkson storms at no.4 with her seventh studio album 'Piece By Piece' and 115.000 units sold (82.900 of it in the USA and 13.500 in United Kingdom). Some additional sales stats: 'My Everything' by Ariana Grande sold 18.000 copies last week and reaches a total of 1.363.000 so far, 'Four' by One Direction sold 16.000 units last week, 2.627.000 so far, 'The Pinkprint' by Nicki Minaj sold also 16.000 units last week and has a total of 742.000 copies so far, 'The Endless River' by Pink Floyd sold 2.236.000 copies so far, 'Cheek To Cheek' by Tony Bennett & Lady GaGa 971.000, and the soundtrack to 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' 1.840.000.

The biggest winner of the week is Kelly Clarkson's 'Heartbeat Song' which climbs from no.38 to no.17. Japanese boy idol group Arashi debuts at no.5 globally with their new single 'Sakura'. They are also no.1 in Japan after a massive sales week of 465.000 copies according to Oricon.
The soundtrack to 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' debuted 2 weeks ago on the Global Chart at no.2 with 319.000 copies sold. Drake's album 'If You're Reading This, It's Too Late' was no,1 with 559.000 sales. 'Fifty Shades' remained at no.2 in its second week with another 242.000 Albums sold. That week Imagine Dragon's new album 'Smoke+Mirrors' debuted at no.1 with sales of 269.000. In its 3rd week on the charts, 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' finally reaches no.1 after selling 175,000 copies.
This week, 18 albums debut on the World's Top 20 best-selling Albums chart. Kid Rock debuts at no.2 with his tenth studio album 'First Kiss' and world sales of 158.000 copies, mostly in the USA. Kid Rock's last album 'Devil Without A Cause' released in 1998, sold over 12 million copies. His biggest single smash was much later in the year of 2008, when 'All Summer Long' went to the top of the charts globally. That year he received the 'World's Best-selling Pop Rock Male Artist" Award in Monte-Carlo at the 2008 World Music Awards.
Rapper Big Sean debuts at no.3 with his third album 'Dark Sky Paradise' and sales of 157.000 this first week. His former album 'Hall Of Fame' debuted at no.6 with 76.000 units in 2013.
Some additional sales stats: 'Cheek To Cheek' by Tony Bennett & Lady GaGa sold 15.000 copies last week and reaches a total of 964.000 so far. 'Uptown Special' by Mark Ronson sold 18.000 units last week, with a global tally of 250.000 copies so far. Beyoncé's self-titled album sold 8.000 units last week and has a total of 3.776.000 copies. 'AM' by the Arctic Monkeys sold 2.374.000 copies so far, '1989' by Taylor Swift is at 6.506.000, and '21' by Adele is at 26.758.000.
