Seventeen’s 'You Made My Dawn’ the 6th extended play by the South Korean boy band Seventeen, debuts at #1 the Global Album Chart with equivalent sales of 393,000. 338,000 of the that was sold in South Korea according to Hanteo and another 50,000 in Japan according to Oricon. Seventeen is a 'self-producing' Idol group, with the members being actively involved in the songwriting and other aspects!

 
The 2nd highest debut of the week is Backstreet Boys' comeback Album 'DNA', their 9th studio album. It lands at 2 on the global chart with 373,000 equivalent sales. 234,000 of that in the US, nearly 50,000 in Canada and 30,000 in Japan according to Oricon. The Band's most successful album remains their third album 'Millennium', released nearly 20 years ago in May 1999. It sold around 25 million copies to date and ranks at no.37 on the All Time chart!

New entry at #3 for Hwang Chi-Yeul's 'The Four Seasons after selling 103.000 equivalent units in its 1st week while Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper's 'A star Is born' slips 2 - 4 after selling another 103.000 units and a total of 2.783.000 so far!

New entry at #5 for Bring Me The Horizon's brand new Album 'Amo' after selling 97.000 equivalent units in its 1st week while the Bohemian Rhapsody Soundtrack slips 3 to 6 after seling another 78.000 units and a total of 1.791.000 so far!

Last week's #1 Album, Future's 'Future Hndrxx Presents: The Wizrd' slips 1 - 7 after selling another 67.000 equivalent sales this week and a total of 221.000 so far!

The Greatest Showman Soundtrack slips 4 - 8 after selling another 66.000 equivalent units and a total of 5.963.000 so far, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's 'Hoodie SZN' dips 6 - 9 after sellng another 60.000 equivalent sales this week and a total of 432.000 so far, and closing the Top 10 best-selling Albums Rank is Post Malone's 'Beerbongs & Bentleys', down 3 spots from last week after selling another 59.000 equivalent sales and 4.319.000 so far!

The Soundtrack to ‘The Greatest Showman’ was not only the #1 Album of 2018 with equivalent sales of 5.434.000, it was also the best-selling and the only Album with over 3 million pure sales in 2018! The Greatest Showman Soundtrack was released on December 8, 2017 with its lead Single "This Is Me”! The Album shot to #1 globally following the release of the film, and was the best-selling album of 2018 in the United States with 1,491,000 in pure album sales!  'The Greatest Showman’ was also the #1 top selling Album in the UK, with combined sales of over 1.6 million! It also went to #1 in Australia, Ireland, Italy, Japan and Sweden, peaking at #2 in Norway and South Korea on the Gaon international Albums chart, and #3 in Austria & Finland, #4 in Belgium & Switzerland, #5 in the Netherlands, #6 in Mexico, and #8 in the Czech Republic & Spain. The Album's single "This Is Me” won Best Original Song at the 75th Golden Globes! 


Drake’s ‘Scorpion’ was the best-selling Solo Artist Album and the 2nd best-selling Album of the year in 2018 with equivalent sales of 4.268.000, powered by three global #1 singles including "God's Plan”,  "In My Feelings" and "Nice For What!


Post Malone’s was #3 on the year end List with ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys which sold 3.999.000 units.


Ed Sheeran’s ‘Divide’ was #4 on the year end list with equivalent sales of 3.982.000 powered by “Perfect which was the best-selling Single of 2018!


XXXTentacion’s 'Bad Vibes Forever’ was #5 with equivalent sales of 2.719.000 followed by Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ which came in at #6 after selling 2.411.000 equivalent units.

 
 
BTS were the best-selling Group of 2018 with 2 Albums in the year end chart! 'Love Yourself 轉 Tear’ ranked #7 with 2,275,000 equivalent sales and Love Yourself: Answer’ was 12th Best-selling Album of 2018 with 2.037 equivalent sales.

 

The 8th top selling Album of 2018 was Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born Soundtrack with 2.257.000 equivalent units followed by Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ which ended up the #1 Best-selling Album by a Female Solo Artist with equivalent sales of 2.257.000 in 2018! 

 

The #1 Top selling Album by a Rock Band and 10th best-selling Album of 2018 was ‘Evolve’ by imagine Dragons which sold 2.137.000 equivalent units!

"Perfect" was the first track Sheeran wrote for his third studio album ÷.. The song is about the love of Ed’s life, Cherry Seaborn, who inspired the lyrics. Ed wanted to write the best love song of his career! “Perfect” was produced by Ed himself with strings orchestration from his brother Matthew Sheeran. it was the final wish of Ed's grandmother to see her 2 grandsons work together before she died.
 
"Perfect" reached #3 in the UK in December 2017, but it was the version with Beyoncé, released on 1 December 2017, that drove the track to #1 in the UK. It was Sheeran's second #1 Single from ÷ and his fourth #1 single in total. With UK sales of 1,048,313, "Perfect" became Sheeran's 10th million-selling single and held for six consecutive weeks!

Powered by the duet release, "Perfect" reached #1 in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. “Perfect”  was the 6th top selling Song globally in 2017.
