Adele's "Hello' is No.1 globally for a 3rd week! The Song was released on 23 October as the lead single off Adele's album '25'. Upon its release, "Hello" received a triumphant response from music critics and the record buying public alike, going straight to number one in nearly every country and staying there for a 3rd week!
In the US, "Hello" entered at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 on 2 November 2015. The Song also topped the Digital Songs chart with sales of 1,112,000, the first track to sell one million digital copies in a single week. "Hello" is the third highest weekly sales total since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. Only Elton John's "Candle in the Wind 1997/Something About the Way You Look Tonight" has sold more in a single week, selling 3.446 million copies in its opening week and 1.212 million copies in its second week. "Hello" stayed at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for a second week, selling another 635,000 digital copies marking the third-best digital sales week and the highest for a non-debut week. "Hello" also held atop Streaming Songs with 47.4 million U.S. streams. The track also stayed atop the On-Demand Songs with 18.1 million streams. This third week, the song is still at the top of the Hot 100 and Digital Songs chart, selling 480,000 downloads and becoming just the third song to sell over 400,000 copies for three straight weeks.
"Hello" entered at the top of the UK Singles Chart on 30 October 2015 for the week dated 5 November 2015, with 333,000 combined sales, of which 259,000 were downloads, making it the biggest selling number-one single on the chart in three years. It marked Adele's second UK number-one single, after 2011's "Someone like You". Additionally, "Hello" was streamed 7.32 million times in its first week, breaking the streaming record previously held by Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?". Including streaming sales and excluding The X Factor and Pop Idol winners' singles, major charity campaign records and Christmas number ones, "Hello" is the second biggest selling number one of the 21st century in the UK, beaten only by Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me", which sold 345,000 copies in a week in February 2001. The following week the song remained at number one on the UK Singles Charts, selling a further 121,000 downloads and was streamed 5.78 million times, the same week the song was certified Gold by the BPI. The song also debuted at number one in Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Slovakia and Switzerland.
In Australia, "Hello" entered at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart on 31 October 2015, selling over 59,075 units, which earned the song a gold certification in its first week. "Hello" is still top of the ARIA Singles chart and is the second fastest-selling single of the year, behind Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again." "Hello' marks Adele's second number-one single on the ARIA Singles Chart following 2011's "Someone like You". In New Zealand, the song debuted at number one on the New Zealand singles chart, and has been certified platinum.
Adele's 'Hello' rules the Global Track Chart easily for a second week
with massive sales around the world. Adele isn't expected to leave the
top spot any time soon with her new album '25'expected to sell more
than 3 million copies in its first week. The Album comes out November
20. The current record-holder is Japanese pop star Hikaru Utada, whose
Album 'Distance' was released on March 28, 2001 and sold 3,002,720
copies in its first week, according to Oricon.
Last week's second big debut, Justin Bieber's 'Sorry', slides down one
slot at no.3 after a 31% points decline to 332,000 points. His former
smash 'What Do You Mean?' is still strong in its 10th week on the
tally at no.5 with 245,000 points. AKB's 48 sister group Nogizaka 48
land their eighth global Top 10 tune, 'Ima, Hanashitai Hito Ga Iru'.
The song bows at the vice-position with 428.000 points. Exactly on
this place started Ariana Grande's 'Problem' one and a half year ago
with 384,000 points. It was her biggest hit so far and now 'Focus',
the first sign from her upcoming album, shoots at no.6 globally with
215,000 points. The biggest hit of 2015, 'Uptown Funk' by Mark Ronson
feat. Bruno Mars, leaves the Top 40 this week. The furious funk smash
was 49 weeks in the Top 40, 16 weeks of it at no.1. And with a total
of 13,969,000 points it climbs to no.9 on the ALL TIME CHART. Outside

rockets to No.1 on the Global Chart. 25 weeks ago his debut album
'Traveller' peaked at no.20 with 28,000 sales. This past week the
Album has managed to sell 158,000 copies, 153,400 of it in the USA and
4,300 in Canada. This week's highest debut is a special Album by Elvis
Presley with newly constructed recordings blending archive Presley
vocals with the orchestral stylings of The Royal Philharmonic
Orchestra, 'If I Can Dream' rises to No.2 this week with sales of
121,000. Elvis passed away in August 1977. The second highest debut
comes from 19 year-old French star Kendji Girac. His 2nd album
'Ensemble'debuts with sales of 108,000 in France, Belgium and
Switzerland. His first self entitled Album 'Kendji' sold over a
million copies in France and was certified Diamond.
Canadian teen star Justin Bieber defends the top postion of the Global Track Chart for a seventh consecutive week, 'What Do You Mean?' got another 283,000 points (down 2%). It's no secret that it will be definitely the last week at no.1 for that song. 'Hello', the first sign of Adele's upcoming album, was released last Friday and started with tremendous sales around the globe, the highest weekly singles sales since 18 years... and it seems that 'Hello' will be the first song with more than one million points in a single week since the start of the Mediatraffic Top 40 in January 1999! Back to this week's hitlist, where Drake's 'Hotline Bling' makes a big jump from no.6 to no.2, driven by a 26% points boost to 255,000. It's Drake highest chart-position so far. 'Hotline Bling' interpolates a sample from Timmy Thomas' anti-war hymn and global no.9 hit 'Why Can't We Live Together' from 1973. This week's highest new-entry is another tune from One Direction's upcoming album (release date, November 13). 'Perfect' shoots at no.3 with 251,000 points, meanwhile 'Drag Me Down' remains at no.17 with 106,000 points in its 12th week on the tally. In August this song debuted at no.1 with 428,000 points. 'Infinity', a third single from the new album bowed at no.29 with 86,000 points four weeks ago. American singer, songwriter, actress and model Demetria Devonne 'Demi' Lovato is the clear winner on this week's Global Album Chart. Her fifth studio album 'Confident' rockets to the hot seat with 186,000 sales. The biggest part of it comes from the USA with 76,600 copies, but the set sold also extraordinarily in Latin America, especially Brazil and Mexico. Demi's former (self-titled) studio album landed at no.2 with 139,000 initial sales in the week 22, 2013 and moved around one million copies to date. On this week's vice-position bows the self-titled album by the American a cappella group Pentatonix with 118,000 units, most of it in the USA with 87,700. The band's latest album is their first full-length non-covers set (minus one reworking of Shai’s “If Ever I Fall In Love,” featuring Jason Derulo). Nearly one year ago Pentatonix' X-mas album started at no.21 with 33,000 sales in the week 46, 2014 and peaked at no.3 four weeks later with massive 235,000 sales. Third highest debut comes from American rapper Machine Gun Kelly, his second album 'General Admission' arrives at no.3 globally with 60,000 sales (49,400 in the USA and 5,700 in Canada). The rapper's first effort 'Lace Up' reached no.12 in the week 43, 2012 with 53,000 sales. Another American rapper, The Game, catapulted at no.2 last week with 'The Documentary 2' and 114,000 sales, the installment 'The Documentary 2.5' lands at no.4 this week and found only about half as many buyers as before (56,000). Rounds out the top five is last week's chart-leader, Selena Gomez' 'Revival'. It moved another 51,000 copies, a 64% sales decline compared to the previous week. Some additional sales stats: 'Rebel Heart' by Madonna sold 5,000 copies last week and reaches a total of 825,000 so far, 'My Everything' by Ariana Grande sold 4,000 units last week, 1,674,000 so far, '21' by Adele sold 8,000 units last week and has a total of 26,937,000 copies so far, '1000 Forms Of Fear' by Sia sold 1,373,000 copies so far, 'Compton' by Dr.Dre 850,000 and 'Repentless' by Slayer 246,000.
