The tune gets another 290,000 points, an 8% decrease compared to the previous week. Close behind with 274,000 points (up 52%) jumps The Weeknd's 'The Hills' to the vice-position. The song profits from new remixes with Eminem and Nicki Minaj. The Canadian R&B superstar has another big smash in the top five, former number no.1 'Can't Feel My Face' slides at no.4 with 205,000 points. Sandwiched between hangs 'Locked Away' by R.City and Adam Levine at no.3 with 240,000 points. Beyoncé & Arrow Benjamin's 'Runnin' (Lose It All)' at no.41, Nick Jonas' 'Levels' at no.44 and Adam Lambert's 'Ghost Town' at no.55 for their first appearance on the big list.
Another massive 17 debuts on this week's Global Album Top 40 and two of it with a six-digit number of copies. These are 'The Documentary 2' by American rapper The Game and 'Revival' by American actress, singer and fashion designer Selena Gomez. The latter bows at the summit of the current tally with 142,000 sales. 85,000 of it in the USA alone, another 10,000 in Canada, estimated 6,000 in Germany, 5,700 in United Kingdom, 4,000 in France and 3,600 in Australia. Selena's last studio album 'Stars Dance' from 2013 started also at the top position with 164,000 sales in the week 32 of that year and sold around one million copies to date. 'The Documentary 2' by The Game arrives at the vice-position with 114,000 sales, the lion-share of it comes from the USA with 83,200 copies, another 10,000 from United Kingdom, 8,000 from Canada, and around 4,000 from Germany. 10 years ago The Game's debut effort 'The Documentary' bowed with massive 620,000 sales in the week 5, 2005. Already next week follows a sequel with the title 'The Documentary 2.5'. In its seventh week on the tally former number one smash 'Beauty Behind The Madness' by The Weeknd turns back to the top three with another 52,000 sales, a total of 931,000 so far. By the way, last week's chart-leader, 'Unbreakable' by Janet Jackson, falls down at no.7 after a 70% sales decline to 43,000. In spite of many, many debuts every week, the two top selling albums of this year are steadfast in the Global Top 10. '1989' by Taylor Swift remains at no.8 and 'X' by Ed Sheeran at no.9 (both with 37,000 sales this week). On the year-to-date list '1989' defends its top position with 3,73 million sales, followed by 'X' with 3,45 million copies. No one has a chance to overthrow these both albums from the throne of the countdown chart 2015... except Adele will release her new set '25' in the next time, some sources reported that the album will be published on November 20. Some additional sales stats: 'Chaos And The Calm' by James Bay sold 14,000 copies last week and reaches a total of 782,000 so far, 'The Best! 1989 is the best-selling Album of 2015 as of September 30, 2015 with a total of 3,568,000 copies sold globally so far this year. Its the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on October 27, 2014, through Big Machine Records. The album's title was inspired by the pop-music scene of the 1980s, particularly Swift's birth year. The album represents a sonic departure from the country music of her previous albums, and is described by Swift as her "first documented official pop album." Five singles have been released from the set: "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood" reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, while "Style" and "Wildest Dreams" peaked at number six.
The album's performance broke Swift's own personal sales record, and became the 19th album to sell over one million copies in a single week since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. It was the seventh-highest sales week in history, and the highest sales week since 2002, when Eminem's The Eminem Show sold 1.3 million units. Swift also became the first artist to release three albums that sold one million or more copies within a single week. The Album remained at the top spot of the Billboard 200 during the second and third week of release, surpassing two million copies sold. In its fourth week, the album was replaced by One Direction's Four, but returned to number one again for the fourth time in its fifth week. The album sold 200,000 or more copies in each of the 10 successive weeks after release, a feat last achieved by Usher's Confessions in 2004. 1989 eventually sold over 3,660,000 copies in 2014 and was the best-selling album in the U.S. that year, ahead of Coldplay's Ghost Stories (745,000 copies).
During the week ending January 18, 2015, the album sales surpassed four million copies. 1989 is the first album to sell four million copies in the U.S. since the week ending February 23, 2014, when Red crossed the four-million mark. By early February 2015, in its 15th week of release, 1989 topped the U.S. chart for eleven non-consecutive weeks, establishing Swift as the female artist with the second-highest number of total weeks, with 35 weeks, in the number-one Billboard position for all of her albums—Whitney Houston's record total of 46 weeks at number one remained intact. It spent a total of 24 consecutive weeks inside the top five of the Billboard 200, making it one of the nine albums to spend their first 24 weeks in the top five since 1963. On March 13, 2015, Billboard announced that 1989 had outsold both of her previous two albums in the U.S. after 19 weeks of release.
In Canada, the album debuted at number one on the Canadian Albums Chart, selling 107,000 copies. In its second week, the album remained at number one with sales of 37,000, bringing its two-week sales total to 144,000 copies. It went on to become Canada's best-selling album of the year, having sold 314,000 copies. In the UK, 1989 sold 90,000 in its first week and debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. It became her second number-one album in the UK, following Red (2012), and was the fastest-selling female solo album in 2014. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry the Album sold 6 million copies worldwide in 2014.
