"All I Want for Christmas Is You" was released on October 29, 1994 as the lead single from Mariah's 4th studio album and 1st holiday album, 'Merry Christmas' (1994). Written and produced by Carey, and Walter Afanasieff, the song quickly became a huge global success, topping the charts in 26 countries.
