It's a little sensation, 13 years after the last studio album 'October Road', the 67 year-old legendary American singer / songwriter James Taylor released his 17th album and lands the first global number one in his long career! 'Before This World' opens at the summit with 123.000 sales, 95.900 of it in the USA alone, another 13.500 in United Kingdom. Five-time Grammy Award winner James Taylor began his career in 1970 with the song 'Fire And Ice' (no.9 in the week 49, 1970) and landed the biggest hit some months later with a cover of the Carole King classic 'You've Got A Friend' (no.4 in the week 31, 1971). For this song he won a Grammy Award for the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 1971. His 'Greatest Hits' compilation from 1976 peaked at no.15 in the US Billboard Charts. However it became a steady seller for many years and sold more than 11 million copies to date in this country alone.
